Key Lime EP

If the artworks anything to go by, D'Arabia's first outing on House of Disco is the sonic embodiment of a blissful, free-spirited, parallel universe where the claws of bleak modern big city living are a world away.Carefree in it's groove, 'Key Lime' let's a vibrant sax loose over the top of a killer bassline and fizzing hi hats. Throw in some hazy jazz samples and it's summertime smoothness of the highest calibre.Three of the best in the bizz then step up to add their own reinterpretation to D'Arabia's jam. First, Patchworks sets the sun on the lakeside party, focusing the remix around those jazzy keys and predominantly looping the sax but allowing for flurries of brilliance when the time is right.Ron Basejam does, what Ron Basejam does best, stripping back the elements for the intro, building the percussion, sax and bass alongside a looped guitar and keys for over 2 minutes until the kick comes in to set out it's stall as a serious modern boogie ripper.COEO closes out the e.p. steering everyone into the club and pushing the tempo, adding some dreamy pads, a harder hitting beat and honing in on those vocal samples. Hot stuff from the HOD crew once again!
