Floating Points reissues rare '70s soul album, Tomorrow's People's Open Soul. The collector's favourite will be available for the first time in 40 years via Melodies International.Melodies International proudly expand their catalogue of rare soul gems with another carefully crafted reissue, complete with full 16 page Melozine. This time it's the spellbinding Tomorrow's People album: Open Soul which was originally released in 1976. Deep in South Chicago, a band of four brothers raised on doo-wop and flea-market instruments made a record during the mid 70s that did not only mark a seminal point in their youthful careers, but would go on to become a true collector’s favourite. Open Soul is quite simply one of the best examples of raw, stripped down soul in its purest form, and for this reason has become a highly sought after rarity. The album has been carefully reproduced and will be officially available for the first time in 40 Years, this time accompanied by an interview with one of the original brothers, various Tomorrow's People memorabilia and a number of other contributions from Melodies' friends around the world.

Following the release of Baba Commandant's debut album in 2014 on Sublime Frequencies label, Mawimbi is proud to present Wasso, one of the best cut from the album in brand new mixing shape alongsides killer electronic remixes from the likes of Mawimbi signee Loya and Mr. Boom. A rather eccentric and mysterious character from the Ouagadougou underground scene, Baba Commandant started out as a traditional Bobo dancer, before engaging in a rich musical career. Recorded at the notorious Ouaga Jungle Studios, "Wasso" is a prime example of the band's unpolished and raw sounds. Stripping the original track down to its most lively elements, both remixes are perfect club-ready weapons for tropical-minded and house DJs alike.

"Lost Soul" takes you even deeper in to the realms of 70's Soul, bringing it into the 21 century with its beefed up lick " I wanna hold on, and let my love grow strong", reminiscent of the original Mark E working that helped start the movement.Side B “The G Groove" proves to be another early set summer anthem, completely heads down whenever it gets played, while "Keep on Dancing" does exactly what it says on the tin. The hardest track of the EP is left till last, with its "Keep on Dancing" call to arms for the dance floor reinforced by a destructible sax loop, it should be called Martini, anytime anyplace anywhere.These tracks definitely reflect the sounds of South Beach, produced with love by Hotmood, curated by South Beach Recycling.

One of the rarest and most sought-after Italian holy grail soundtracks ever is finally back from the grave! Originally released in 1966 on Beat Records (45-BT 024), the KRIMINAL main theme was written by Romano Mussolini (Raymond Full in the opening credits) and Roberto Pregadio for this sleazy crime-pop movie directed by Umberto Lenzi, and based on the cult Italian comic hero. Actually, this could be considered one of the best swinging jazz-beat themes from the 60s, with its wonderful horn, acid vox continental organ, and terrific rhythmic guitar. On the B-side, we have another jewel from 1960s Italian spy-pop cinema: the main theme of “Il cobra” (from the Mario Sequi’s movie). This swinging and uptempo jazz-beat piece, written and conducted by the Spanish composer Antón García Abril, is a poisonous shake with a supergroovy mood – a double-sided floor-filler, not to be missed by any serious soul-jazz DJ.
