Disco Stomper with Diva Vocals.Another extremely rare underground record on P&P. This time however and quite shockingly not a Patrick Adams or a Greg Carmichael production. Nonetheless “Ain’t it time” is a massive Disco cut written, arranged and produced by Arthur Manning and P. J. Wyatt paired with great Vocals by Soul, Disco and Gospel vocalist Gwendolyn Dennison better known for her stage name as Queen Yahna. Queen Yahna's Career has seen her perform on Broadway as Maria in the Hit Musical, "Porgy & Bess" and the National Company of "The Wiz" as "Evillene". Based in Berlin, Germany, Queen Yahna has had a successful career outside theater as well, cutting a few dance records over the years.

Disco Juice

Produced by the legendary Patrick Adams, the studio-bound disco unit Cloud One made its debut in 1976 with the spectacular Atmosphere Strut and throughout the seventies, became the centerpiece for Queen Constance, Golden Flamingo, Heavenly Star, and Sound of New York, all labels ran by Peter Brown & Patricia Gilyard. At a time when most music was recorded with a full army of studio musicians, Cloud One records were mostly played, arranged and mixed in their entirety by Patrick Adams himself!!! The ability to "work on his own" allowed the music to feel more experimental than the work he did on major labels at the time. Released in 1977 Disco Juice is probably P&P’s best-known cut and for good reason. All the elements are there, a catchy melody reinforced by Venus Dodson's vocals, a driving bass line, an accentuated piano and of course the signature Patrick Adams Synth Strings unifying the whole composition and creating a delirious and hypnotic effect. It's no surprise this Record has been a point of reference to many house music producers, and sampled famously by artists like Norman Cook and Paul Johnson. From the Streets of Harlem to the beaches of Ibiza, 38 years later this juice keeps aging like a fine wine.

Dance Dance Dance

This monster Underground Disco classic was produced by the legendary Patrick Adams and it’s considered to be one of his best and rarest pressings. Released in 1977 on P&P Records, “Dance Dance Dance” was ahead of its time laying ground for the signature sound he’d soon to be known for on productions for the likes of Inner Life, Loleatta Holloway, Bumblebee Unlimited, and Musique. This Classic release combines a smooth blend of Latin rhythms, an infectious bass line and Arp keyboards that create a dubbed out cosmic vibe, while Marta Acuna’s dreamy vocals glide in and out. This is the perfect tune to close out an evening of hot summer dancing, a NYC Disco Classic. This Highly sought after and extremely rare 12” has seen other lives as well, heavily sampled in Underground House tracks like Alex Neri’s “Planet Funk” and covered by Joey Negro and his Sunburst Band.“Absolute disco classic right here… out on P&P back in 1977. One of our favorites…a record everyone needs to hear.” - Bicep

Out Of Work

There is no doubt Peter Brown’s P&P is one hell of an eclectic label. Enter Jesse Gould’s Powerful protest song ‘Out of Work’. A song that could have easily fit better at the Harlem Cultural Festival in the summer of ’69 than at a Disco in ’77. A regular at David Mancuso’s Loft, this fast-paced Funk Jam Borderlines Disco. However more Sly Stone than Disco Inferno, the realities of Harlem were all here on display. Produced and arranged by Billy Nichols, ‘Out of Work’ showcases the qualities that made him famous - Funky Rhythms rooted from his time at Motown, Big Strings and special attention to the Drum Section. Another incredibly rare record, another incredible opportunity to own what the Disco Black Market has priced for more than a Day’s Work minimum wage.
