a propos:
Starting from where the "Cold Game" LP left us, the new album offering from Myron & E and the Soul Investigators finishes the saga of this Finnish-American marriage of soulful ecstasy. "Going In Circles" picks the rest of the tracks from the Stones Throw released "Broadway" from last year in the form of previously unreleased extended mixes, adds a 7" only track, as well as a brand new soul stomper."Dangerous" has only been available on a limited 45 from Stones Throw, and can now be heard in its full extended studio cut glory. Also featured is the "They Don't Know" original mix, which was just recently put out by Timmion on a 7". Same goes for the dance soul of "Behind Closed Doors", which hasn't been available in album form before, and is just getting its first 7" release. If we lay these past vinyl release issues aside, "Going In Circles" is once more an album to heard in its entirety. Packaged in a glorious pasted back sleeve, it will compliment any vinyl collection. If somebody is thinking about buying their first soul album, they might as well get going with this. It’s time to take another look at Myron & E, the duo of soul brothers from California, whose debut album “Broadway” was released by Stones Throw Records during the summer of 2013. “Going In Circles” is the second in a series of two Myron & E albums, which will be released by Timmion Records. It features tracks from the first album, an early single cut with The Soul Investigators, and a fresh new instrumental to groove on.The album sleeve has a photo of Myron Glasper and Eric Boss sitting on an iceberg, in Helsinki in the Spring of 2009. This iceberg was a monument to the heavy snowfalls Finland received during the winter, still standing months later, and providing an ideal stage to shoot some cold game. This is the true tone Timmion wants to paint with its private alternate pressings of the music The Soul Investigators recorded with Myron & E from the year 2007 to 2012.Some of the music The Soul Investigators play might sound cheery at first, but deep inside beats a heart full of authentic Finnish melancholy, reflecting the finest escapist moods of classic American soul. Myron & E reach the music potently and complementing this brand of unpolished soul to the fullest.Timmon Records in Helsinki, Finland - the home of Myron & E's band & collaborators The Soul Investigators - have released their own custom versions of the Myron & E recordings, cut right at home in the Timmion Cutting Laboratory. The two LPs - Cold Game and Going in Circles - are strictly limited edition vinyl releases, packaged with old school thick cardboard sleeve and "tip-on" cover. Going in Circles LP contains the full, original versions three tracks from Myron & E's Broadway (the U.S. release on Stones Throw) and four others which aren't on the U.S. release.
